Diwali is the five-day Festival of Lights, celebrated by millions of Hindus, Sikhs and Jains across the world. Diwali, which for some also coincides with harvest and new year celebrations, is a festival of new beginnings and the triumph of good over evil and light over darkness. It is particularly associated with Lakshmi, the goddess of prosperity, and marks the beginning of the financial year in India. The word Diwali comes from the Sanskrit word Deepavali, meaning “rows of lighted lamps”. On this day, those celebrating dress up, light up their homes, temples and businesses with oil lamps and candles (diyas) and worship Lakshmi. They also enjoy a feast with their family, sharing sweets (mithai) and gifts.

Diwali Celebration in Office

This is the festival, everyone awaits to celebrate with their colleagues at the office so we also celebrated this festival in the office with the same passion and joy a day before actual Diwali. This festival is all about shining bright. We decorated our office with diyas, stickers, ribbons and rangoli. All were in Ethnic attire. Our event committee had planned the entire day with full of enthusiasm. They organised a light breakfast in the morning, Potluck lunch, played several games in the evening like quiz, housie followed by cake cutting ceremony. Everyone enjoyed that day by participating in games and took multiple pictures of our decorated office. Our company has also distributed sweets to all Technorians. Rangoli at the entrance made the day much brighter and colourful. Everyone participated to make the Rangoli, a must eye catching piece. It was one of the memorable moments.
